Window and Glass Cleaner
(Basic Formula)
|
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 1 clean 32-ounce spray bottle
|
- Mix ingredients in container
- Spray on windows and other glass items
- Dry glass with crumpled newspaper
|
Alcohol in formula helps prevent streaking

Window and Glass Cleaner
(All Purpose Formula)
|
- 1/2 cup ammonia
- 2 cups rubbing alcohol
- 1 teaspoon of dishwasher liquid soap
- water
- 1 clean 32-ounce spray bottle
|
- Pour ingredients in container
- Fill remainder of container with water
- Spray on windows and other glass items
- Dry glass with crumpled newspaper
|
Alcohol prevents streaking
Dishwasher soap removes commerial window cleaner residue

|
Multipurpose Cleaner
|
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup rubbing alcohol
- 1 teaspoon clear household ammonia
- 1 teaspoon mild dishwashing liquid
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 3 cups water
- 1 clean 32-ounce spray bottle
|
- Combine ingredients in container
- Shake well before each use
- Spray on countertops, kitchen appliances and fixtures, tile, or painted surfaces
- Wipe down with a clean cloth or damp sponge
|
Use on non-wooden surfaces

Wall Cleaner
|
- 1/2 cup borax
- 1 teaspoon clear household ammonia
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 gallon warm water
- bucket
|
- Mix all ingredients in large bucket
- Use a clean sponge to apply solution to wall
- Rinse wall with a clean sponge and plain water
- Wipe down with a clean cloth or damp sponge
|
Removes scuff marks and stains without harming painted surfaces
Find borax in laundry aisle
|
|
Scented Carpet Freshener
|
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup lavender flowers or 7-10 drops of essential oil
- Cheese shaker or can with holes punched in lid
|
- Pour baking soda into large bowl
- If using lavender flowers, crush then mix with baking soda
- If using essential oil, stir into baking soda and breaks up clumps with a fork
- Pour mixture into cheese shaker or can with holes punched in lid
- Sprinkle liberally on carpet. Wait 30 minutes, then vacuum

For maximum results, sprinkle on carpet before you go to bed, then vacuum in the morning.

Air Fresheners
|
- 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
- 25 drops bergamot essential oil
- 8 drops clove essential oil
- 5 drops lemon essential oil
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 clean 12 ounce spray bottle
|
- In the spray bottle, combine the alcohol and essential oils and shake well to disperse oil.
- Add water and shake for a minute or 2 until thoroughly blended
- Let mixture sit for a few days before using to allow fragrance to blend and mature
- A quick spritz is all that's neeeded to freshen a room
|
Make your fragance by combining up to 3 essential oils. Popular choices include eucalyptus, lavender, geranium, grapefruit, orange, pepermint, pine, juniper, rose and spearment

Lemon Oil Furniture Polish
|
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1 clean 16 ounce spray bottle
|
- In the spray bottle, combine olive oil and lemon juice
- Shake well before using
- Apply a small amount to a soft flannel cloth or chamois, then apply evenly over wood surface
- Use a clean, dry flannel cloth to buff and polish
|
Discard leftovers and make a fresh batch each time you want to polish

|
No Fuss Furniture Polish
|
- 1/4 cup boiled linseed oil
- 1/8 cup vinegar
- 1/8 cup whiskey
- 1 clean 16 ounce spray bottle
|
- Combine all ingredients in spray bottle and shake well
- Apply a small amount to a clean, soft cloth and wipe on
- No need to buff, the dullness evaporates along with the alcohol
|

|
Cabinet Polish
|
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 cups warm water
- basin or small bucket
|
- Combine ingredients in basin or small bucket
- Dip a soft flannel cloth into solution and wring it out
- Wipe over wood
- Buff and polish with a clean, soft, dry cloth
|
Discard leftovers and make a fresh batch next time you want to polish kitchen cabinets or bookshelves
|
|
Soft Scrub
|
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- liquid detergent
- 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin (optional)
- bowl or container with lid
|
- Pour baking soda into container
- Add enough liquid detergent to make a paste
- Use a damp sponge and mixture to wash sinks, tubs, and tile
- Rinse with plain water
|
Rinses easily and doen't leave grit
Add vegetable glycerin to mixture and store in air tight container or just make new mixture when you need it
|
|
Bathroom Cleaner for Mold
|
- 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide
- 1 cup water
- spray bottle
|
- Spray on moldy areas
- Let dry for a least 1 hour
- Rinse with plain water
|
Must be stored in brown bottle
Label spray bottle for the next time you make this solution
|
|
Scouring Powder
|
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup borax
- 1 cup salt
|
- Mix ingredient together and place in shaker or a container with a lid that has holes
- Use as you would any commercial scouring powder
|
