Factory Annual and Tent Sales

Factory sales are held at factory or distribution centers. At these sales you can get great bargains on new items that were over produced. Manufacturers hold these sales at different times of the year. Some sales are annual others more sporadic. Items at these sales vary depending on what the manufacturer produces.

Special Sales

Special sales are held at many retail stores. These can be sidewalk sales, tent sales or annual clearance sales. Discounts range from 40%-90% off.

Outlet and Discount Stores

At outlet and discount stores you can find new, overruns and seconds. Quantities and selection may be limited, but the discounts are good.

Shopping Retail Stores

Retail stores find themselves in competition with discount stores and online stores, so they too offer bargains. Retail stores have limited space, so as seasons change or as new items are introduced, they mark down merchandise.

Shop retail stores towards the end of seasons. Markdowns can range from 30% to 80% off. Make a habit of routinely walking retail stores to check out their clearance sections. Here you can find deals on items not advertised.

Furnishings ReCycled

Buying recycled furnishing is not only good for the environment, but it's also good for your pocket book. Buying recycled goods takes more time and effort on your part, but the money you save will be worth it.

Estate sales can be a great place to get furnishings for your home. It is important to know that the second or last day of an estate sale usually sells items 50% off the previous day's price. It also important to remember, that the selection on the second or last day of the estate sale is not as good.

Habitat ReSale stores are another good source for recycled home goods. Items sold there are donated by builders, manufacturers, chain stores and individuals. You can buy paint for a fraction of the cost, to lighting and plumbing supplies, to furniture from stores and individual's homes. The inventory at Habitat stores changes on a weekly basis.

Goodwill stores also provide a great source for recycles goods. Here you will find a variety of items donated by individuals who no longer use or need the items. It is not unusual to find sets of dishes, baskets, furniture items clothes and more. Like the Habitat stores, Goodwill's inventory is constantly changing.
