Use a water heater blanket year round to save on your water bill. You can purchase these at most home stores. They come in various precut sizes. Make sure you follow manufacturer's instructions when installing, especially for gas heaters. Reduce Electric BillsUse compact fluorescent light bulbs. They are more expensive than other light bulbs, but they will last 10 times longer. Because they are energy efficient, you will save on your electric bill too. Get into the habit of turning lights off when you leave a room. Even when you turn an electronic device off, it still uses energy if it is plugged in.
