Cooking

Make Buttermilk
|
- Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to 1 cup of milk
|

Prevent Hard Boiled Eggs from Cracking
|
- Add 2 tablespoon of white vinegar to 1 quart of water before boiling eggs.
The shells will peal off faster and easier.

Fluffy Rice
|
- Add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to boiling water.
Rice will be easier to spoon out and less sticky
|

Meat Tenderizer
|
- Make a mixture of 1/2 cup white or cider vinegar and 1 cup liquid bouillon.
Marinade meat as usual.

Revive Vegetables
|
- Soak wilted vegetables in 1 quart cold water with 1 tablespon of white vinegar.

|
Clean Food Stained Pots and Pans
|
- Soak pots and pans with full-strength white vinegar for 30 minutes.
Then rinse in hot, soapy water.

Clean and Deodorize Garbage Disposal
|
- Mix 1 cup white vinegar with enough water to fill ice tray.
After filling ice tray with mixture, freeze and grind cubes through the disposal.
Flush with cold water.

|
- Use a soft cloth saturated with white vinegar.

In the Bathroom
|
Clean Tile or Linoleum
|
- Wash tile and linoleum with 1 cup white vinegar in a bucket of water.
For tough stains, apply full-strength white vinegar to stain.

Remove Soap Scum from Tile and Tub
|
- Wipe the surface with white vinegar and rinse with water.

Laundry

Remove Wrinkles
|
- To get rid of hem marks left after altering hems, gently rub them with a
cloth dampened with white vinegar. Then run a steam iron across the crease.

Clean Washer
|
- Once a month, pour 1 cup of white vinegar in washer.
Run through a normal cycle without clothes. Soap residue will vanish.

Remove Scorch Marks and Stains from Anti-Perspirants
|
- To remove lightly scorch marks on fabric, rub lightly with white vinegar.
Then wipe with a clean cloth. Use the same technique to remove stains from anti-perspirants.

- Pour white vinegar on damp cloth and wipe into the affected areas.

Make Hair Shine
|
- After shampooing, rinse your hair with 1 cup water and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.
It cuts the dulling soap residue, leaving hair soft and shiny.

|
- Sponge white vinegar on sunburn or minor skin irritations

Outdoor Uses
|
Gardens
|
- Extend the life of cut flowers by placing in water with 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
and 3 tablespoons of sugar.
- Spray dandelions with white vinegar. Spray the center of each flower and near the ground
so roots will soak up the vinegar. Do this on a sunny day when no rain is expected for a few days.
- Kill unwanted grass and weeds with white vinegar.
- If you have to leave your car out overnight in the winter, coat the windows
with a solution of 3 parts white or cider vinegar to 1 part water.
They will be frost-free in the morning.
- To loosen rusty bolts and stubborn spigots, soak them in white vinegar.
